Why CommonPlaces?
After being a part of Internet startups Lycos & Firefly decided to start CommonPlaces, which was a combination of Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn for Colleges. Other Founders were Bill Townsend & Mark Palmer. We wanted to create an all inclusive web platform that simulated the Boston Common: Housing, Retail, Business and Social. After selling off our patents on Social Networking and websites, we focused on building web ecosystems for companies.
Fun Facts
- Have 5 beautiful daughters inside & out (definition of insanity).
- Worked on web projects with Jeff Bezos, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Scott McNealy, Marc Andreessen, Christine Varney & Al Gore.
- Attend 2 colleges simultaneously with different majors (Chem Eng & Comp Sci), while developing 2 computer patents.
- My dad designed and built the HVAC system for the Space Shuttle
- Rock & Roll: Was in the original Lynyrd Skynyrd “Free Bird” MTV video. Love Rock concerts. Fav song is Hotel California with Joe Walsh.
